Personalized Nutrition with Taylor Lucas, Registered Dietitian
Meet Taylor Lucas, RDN, LD
Hello! My name is Taylor Lucas, and I am a registered and licensed dietitian. A little bit about me...I am a national and international level Olympic weightlifter with a passion for health, fitness, and performance. I grew up playing softball, dove into CrossFit when I was 18, and eventually transitioned fully to weightlifting around 2021. I work with athletes, but I also work with anyone with a drive to become healthier and discover what is possible through nutrition.
I am in my third year as a practicing Registered Dietitian and up until now I have completed:
Bachelors degree in Nutrition & Dietetics from Ohio State University as well as a minor in business.
Certificate in Dietetic Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
1208.5 hour dietetic internship with Bluffton University to qualify me for the registration exam. This included real world experience along RDs in food service management, community and clinical nutrition.
Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetics Registration.
Working Against Gravity Nutrition Coaching Certification.
CrossFit Level 2 Coaching Certification.
USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coaching Certification.
Clinical Nutrition experience in acute hospital and long-term care, and extensive nutrition coaching experience for weight management and sports performance nutrition.
Why Choose a Dietitian?
In order to maintain credentials, an RD must complete specific continuing education requirements.
What is a "Nutrition Coach" or "Nutritionist?"
Anyone! There is no governing body for these terms and often only requires a certification course or self-education. This is why seeking out a registered dietitian is important.
A dietitian can educate and lead you to the next level in your sport with nutrition as your foundation.
Credentials and Extensive Education
A registered dietitian requires a college degree along with internship and real-world experience (6+ years) prior to sitting for the registration exam.
RDs can legally write you a meal plan that is safe, balanced, and catered to you.
Learn how to manage chronic conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular diseases through medical nutrition therapy.
"I truly appreciate how you look at the whole picture and address all issues related to nutrition. You helped me to realize it's more than just calories in versus calories out and you pay attention to my specific bio individuality in regards to what my digestive tract can and can't handle. I've learned so much about myself and look and feel better than I have in years! Thank you so much!"
